Magnetic-field dependence of the level spacing of a small electron droplet.

چکیده
The temperature dependence of conductance resonances is used to measure the evolution with the magnetic field of the average level spacing ∆ǫ of a droplet containing ∼ 30 electrons created by lateral confinement of a twodimensional electron gas in GaAs. ∆ǫ becomes very small (< 30μeV) near two critical magnetic fields at which the symmetry of the droplet changes and these decreases of ∆ǫ are predicted by Hartree-Fock (HF) for charge excitations. Between the two critical fields, however, the largest measured ∆ǫ = 100μeV is an order of magnitude smaller than predicted by HF but comparable to the Zeeman splitting at this field, which suggests that the spin degrees of freedom are important. Bias-Induced Optical Absorption of Current Carrying Two-Orbital Quantum Dot with Strong Electron-Phonon Interaction (Polaron Regime)
The one photon absorption (OPA) cross section of a current carrying two-orbital quantum dot (QD) with strong electron-phonon interaction (polaron regime) is considered. Using the self-consistent non-equilibrium Hartree-Fock (HF) approximation, we determine the dependence of OPA cross section on the applied bias voltage, the strength of effective electron-electron interaction, and level spacing ...
متن کاملSelf-Fields Effects on Gain in a Helical Wiggler Free Electron Laser with Ion-Channel Guiding and Axial Magnetic Field
In this paper, we have investigated the effects of self-fields on gain in a helical wiggler free electron laser with axial magnetic field and ion-channel guiding. The self-electric and self-magnetic fields of a relativistic electron beam passing through a helical wiggler are analyzed. The electron trajectories and the small signal gain are derived. Numerical investigation is shown that for grou...

The ground state energies of two interacting electrons confined in a coupled double quantum dot (DQD) presented in a magnetic field has been calculated by solving the relative Hamiltonian using variational and exact diagonalization methods. The singlet-triplet transitions in the angular momentum and spin of the quantum dot ground state had been shown .We have studied the magnetic field versus c...

متن کاملSpatial detection of ferromagnetic wires using GMR sensor and based on shape induced anisotropy
The purpose of this paper is to introduce a new technique for row spacing measurement in a wire array using giant magnetoresistive (GMR) sensor. The self-rectifying property of the GMR-based probes leads to accurately detection of the magnetic field fluctuations caused by surface-breaking cracks in conductive materials, shape-induced magnetic anisotropy, etc. The ability to manufacture probes h...
